On September 9, 10 and 11th the Cape Vincent Arts Council hosted the 9th annual 1000 Islands International Piano Festival and Competition for young people. Twelve pianists ranging in age from 9 years old to 24 years old met on the grounds of the historic Maple Grove estate in CapeVincent. The young people came from all over the U.S., Canada and China to take part. After three days of delighting audiences with beautiful music the winners are as follows:
Junior division (18 and younger)
3rd Place – Ramond Feng
2rd Place – Lysandre Menard and Auburn Lee
No 1st place was awarded.
Senior division (19-25)
3rd Place – Emiko Edwards and Samantha Edwards
2nd Place – Tong Wang
1st Place – Jennifer Campbell
